Kenny Britt may be the best receiver Rutgers has ever had. He currently holds a number of school records and would have likely broken more of them had he returned for his senior year. He will be at the NFL scouting combine and could be the first Scarlet Knight to be drafted in the first round. Joining him at the combine is Tiquan Underwood. Underwood was a quarterback early in his Rutgers career, running from under center. He shined as a wide receiver, becoming a 1,000 yard receiver in 2007. He is projected as a mid to late round draft pick.
Throwing the ball to Britt and Underwood was Mike Teel. Teel holds most school passing records. He overcame a rough start to the 2008 season by finshing up the year with some impressive stats and 7 straight wins.
On defense, we have three standouts in Jason McCourty, Jamaal Westerman and Kevin Malast. McCourty has been a lock down corner while Westerman has been a force at defensive end. This year, Westerman played in pain nearly every game due to a torn biceps tendon. He missed the Papjohns.com Bowl after surgery. Joining them is leading tackler, linebacker Kevin Malast.
Ray Rice has re-written the Rutgers record books in the 3 years he played for the Scarlet Knights. Along with the beloved Brian Leonard, Rice has helped turn Rutgers into a national football power. Rice was drafted in the second round by the Baltimore Ravens. He rushed for 154 yards against Cleveland.
Darnell Stapleton started at center for Rutgers for 2 years before signing as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Stapleton started at right guard this year, culminating with a Championship in Super Bowl XLIII.
Safety Courtney Greene was originally scheduled to attend the show but now has an unavoidable conflict. We apologize for any inconvenience.
